Summer Playlist Fun! 第二部分

15 09 2009

Oh heyyyy everyone!  Remember when I started my new summer series called Summer Playlist Fun!, but then I instead decided to take the entire summer off from blogging?  Yeah, that was awesome.  Party.

Anyway, I received some sweet playlists from some pretty sweet people, so I’m going to continue our little series into the fall.  Today’s playlist is from one of my most talented, coolest friends, Brett Kochendorfer.  Read, listen, and enjoy!

Colleen – Summer Water
The name of this song reminds me of being at my parents house in Florida over the summer. Every morning I would walk out to our dock, feed the fish, and drink some coffee. The idea of “summer water” is very relaxing.

Annette Hanshaw – Lovable and Sweet
In general, I love Annette Hanshaw. She has such a beautiful voice and was quite a “hell raiser” for when these songs were recorded. A great slice of Americana for a summer time sitting on your porch.

Leadbelly – He Never Said A Mumblin Word
This is a great song to sing with your friends. If you and your friends are BBQing and drinking sweet tea this song gets even better.

Pygmy Lush – Asphalt
This song reminds of Summer living in a city. The city is so oppressive during the Summer with all the asphalt, buildings, and people.

Eluvium – Radio Ballet
( )
A great song to begin your summer morning. I used to run to this song in the morning.

Floor – Scimitar
( )
This is a very underrated Florida band.

Mark Dinning – Teen Angel
( )
In College one summer my friend and I drove to NYC from Tallahassee. We listened to this song probably 200 times in the car on a tape. My High School girlfriend had recently passed away.

Xiu Xiu – Sad Pony Guerilla Girl
This song reminds me of riding my bike around in the Summer down narrow streets after going to the farmers market.

Death In June – My Rhine Atrocity
( )
Let the black birds kiss me! I listened to this song a lot last Summer (when it was released) and I know I will enjoy it again this summer.

All of these songs remind me of summer. They make me think of the sun, bbq’s, sunny days, swimming in a sink hole, sweet tea, road trips, going on tour, sitting on a porch, reading in the sun, and times with my friends.
